Café Lurline won Best Café in Katoomba in 2024. Run by Mum Gabi and Dad Jackie, with their sons Shealton and Simon, they have been giving us their recycling since we first started. Elijah is always tempted by their delicious pastries, but we have work to do!!! They do great meals too and have some amazing evenings, but you have to book.
From the first to the final there were quite a few changes. The roof needed more detail, so we added the corrugated iron lines. Then the lights were missing and the green stuff above the name. The writing was a little hard to read and ‘THAT RECYCLING BOOK’ had to pop in yellow capitals like it did on page 11. I changed the sign around, added speech bubbles, changed Elijah’s position and Crumpet’s position, added some customers sitting at the tables, added a menu, changed the boys shoes and trousers and turned the wood behind CAFE LURLINE into planks. So that’s how we got to the end of the book … well, nearly. Now there’s the front and back cover, plus the pages inside the cover.
