We have embarked on a community project which combines RECYCLING with COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT for Elijah, with the result of us creating our 4th Elijah and Crumpet kid’s book – this time about RECYCLING. We have named it ‘That Recycling Book’ so it’s easy to remember!

We have a number of local businesses and households supporting us by collecting their bottles and cans for Elijah to recycle. They earn books the more we collect and many have donated these books back to us to give to the community.

So if you live in Katoomba, Leura, or down the mountain (as long as you are near the Highway) and wish to take part, please contact us using the form below and we will get in touch to set it up!

It’s a simple idea …

1. You collect 10c cans, bottles and cartons for us.
2. We provide the bag, which we then pick up when it’s full (Elijah gets to say hi if you live close by!). Or you can continue using your own boxes and we will tip them into our containers.
3. Elijah puts the items into the ‘Return and Earn’ machine.
4. Once 150 items are collected, we give you a book worth $15 (which you can keep or donate back to us to give to someone else).
5. With the profit we create ‘That Recycling Book’ to give out to schools and kids.
6. You receive a signed copy once we have completed it! You can also have your name printed in the book as a supporter.
